Back at Home!

Yes! Finally back at home! My brother and I spent a week at my Grandma's. Very low tech so you can imagine how I feel to be back on the computer! :)
My Grandma is the type of Grandma who plays electronic versions of her favorite game shows. (Deal or No Deal, Wheel of Fortune) It's kind of funny in a way because she plays those games when she watches the shows!
I don't think my Grandma has packed lunches for a good while because I opened my lunch at school and what do I find? Cookies. Cookies lose in my lunch without a bag or container. I laughed so hard pop came out of my nose! And the next day, crackers. Without bag or container. Once again I laughed. It was hilarious!
Overall though I had a good week and got a taste of town life and I've got to say I like farm life a whole lot better! :)

Oh Wow.

Well this is so frustrating. The problem to my pie all along was so tiny and pointless.
I didn't let the pie shortening sit out and soften.
Yup, that's it. Wow, just wow.

Apple Pie

I speak from the heart when I say that I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this pie!
We had made apple pies in Home Ec and it went so well that I decided I would give it a whirl at home. Big mistake.
It was all going well until the pastry dough. (dramatic music) When I was blending it all up I noticed it wasn't as small of chunks as I would have liked. I thought "Oh well" and just kept trucking. So I peeled all my apples and sliced them. After that I took the pastry dough out of the fridge and started rolling it out. That was a huge problem. Everything that went wrong did! The dough split and tore so many times I had to keep re rolling it out. Eventually, the dough got too much flour in it and wouldn't cooperate at all. So luckily mom was there and assisted me in my time of trouble. I don't know how I did it in Home Ec. They must have magic counters or something.
Somehow, someway it turned out this good.

Driver's Ed

Wooooooooooo! Wooooo! What is all this wooing you may ask? Well it's for one reason and one reason only. I am starting Driver's Ed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That means I get my learners when I turn 15! Yaah! That's coming up by the way! ;) So far it's been a good little class. Lots of notes though. My friends keep asking me if it's slack. I always reply with a "HA!" That is not the case with Driver's Ed.
I'm required to have 30 hours in class training and 6 hours in car training. I am so excited!
Of course when I get a car (which won't likely be when I turn 16 or maybe not even the year after...) it has to be yellow. Not puke yellow but a nice dark yellow. That is my only requirement.
Well there is some pretty corny videos in Driver's Ed if I must say so myself. There is crash test dummies talking and cheesy jokes. Don't get me wrong, I love cheesy jokes just only when they're said by me. :)

The Torch was Amazing!

I definitely can't stress this enough! Carrying the Olympic Torch was amazing! In my opinion however, it went way too fast! According to my fans (my family and friends :P) I pretty much sprinted my three blocks. I will forever regret that! Don't get me wrong, the time I had running with the torch was breathtaking.
It was so hilarious because when all 20 of the torchbearers for Swift Current were on the shuttle (to take us to our starting points) this 13 year old boy named Nick was so worried that a sniper was going to be there! It made everyone laugh! When we stopped for awhile I noticed there were some people outside the shuttle. They had signs that read "Anti Olympics". I was so mad at them I was going to flip them over the couch! (Haha metaphorically speaking of course!) They didn't make me lose my spirit though!
When I got off the shuttle I got emotional. It was so amazing I cried. My fans were there all wanting their picture with me and the torch! I felt like a VIP. No scratch that, a celebrity. The torchbearer before me lit me torch (the kiss of the flame) and I ran! A media truck was ahead of me snapping pictures and taking video. I can get that all for free later on the web! Woop!
A family came up to me after at the celebration afterward. They all wanted me to take a picture with them. So I let them. Then they asked, "Is that the real torch?!" And I said yup. Well that got them all bug eyed. They wanted to hold it! I was kinda unsure so I gave my dad a heads up just in case they tried running off with it! That thing was worth $400! But it was a once in a lifetime chance and all so yeah.
Overall I think I had one of the best times of my young little life! :)
(I'm also pretty sure that counted as my fifteen minutes of fame.)

Tomorrow is the day!

WOOO! I'm so excited! Tomorrow is the big day! The moment I get to carry the torch!
Sheridan has donned herself my personal trainer. According to her I have to do 20 push ups every night (if there's one thing to know about me, i do NOT have upper body strength and doing one normal push up is a tough feat for me!), carry a bottle of water in the air every evening (the weight of the torch), and going out to the pasture and chasing cows (to build endurance). Whether the last one is for her own amusement or for real I'll never know. I'm so pumped! If you want to watch me carry the torch go to this live web cam of the torch broadcast at 6:36 PM CST (Central Standard Time) tomorrow.

I'm Carrying the Olympic Torch!

This is absolutely ridiculously HUGE news for me! I've known for a long time but I thought I'd let you know about this a week from D-day. hahaha. Anyway, I'm carrying the torch for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games!! I have all my gear and all my information. Sunday is the big day!
I got this awesome opportunity from a place I told you about quite awhile ago. Do you remember Sogo Active? Well that was my ticket to scoring the torch.
Of course, me being Miss Procrastinate I left the offer to actually one week after the deadline so as you may assume I am not buying my torch. (boo on me....) But I get to keep the uniform. (thank goodness!) I've got to say when I signed up for Sogo Active I expected nothing. But here I am now! Wow....am I getting corny or what?
It's funny because when I got my forms it was so precise that it made me laugh. And I quote "You will arrive at the meeting point at precisely 6:36 PM." Hahahahaha. It sounded so professional.
I'm still in shock but still so excited! Is that possible? Being in shock and excited? Oh well.

Times Like These

You know those moments in life where everything seems to be working in perfect harmony and nothing seems off-balance? It's times like these I love, the random and the miscellaneous.
Our family had a nice walk in a park in a nearby city the other day that was full of lights. It was amazing. The weather was quite cold and I dropped my camera a few times but hey! It was definitely a moment of perfect harmony for me, that walk in the park.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! :)

Random Popcorn feat. Hally, Ace and Jessie

"I'm telling you, life keeps getting harder and harder."

"Do you like my new hairdo?"

"Woah! What do you think you're doing?"

Hey Guys!

Hally and Ace "fighting"
Ace

Hally

As usual I haven't been up to date with all this blogginess but I'll let you know that I update my twitter more often than my blog. So if I stop for awhile you'll likely find me on twitter! Well there has defineatly been a lot going on! I got puppies! They are so cute! One girl, Hally, and one boy, Ace. They are border collies. Our older dog Jessie didn't take very well to them at first and growled at them but now she acts like their mom. It's so adorable. Tricks? Well that's not exactly happening yet. We have tried teaching them hit the hay! When we say hit the hay they're supposed to head to the barn to sleep. Sorta working. Sorta not. But anywho I have pics of them to show you!!
